walk/run recovery

Sick of being unable to run, I came to the conclusion that as my foot has not got any better/worse since June 2010 after considerable attempts to fix it. That I might as well just bloody run with plantar!!

So yesterday I decided to embark on a run/walk programme on a treadmill to see if I can ease myself back into running. Well whoop de bloody whoop, I ran/walked 1.5 miles and my foot feels no worse than it did before I ran. I also did a nice 20 minute sprint class on a spin bike and came home in such a cracking mood that I finished a major piece of university work, that I have been putting off for ages.

Today I am going to water jog for 10 lengths, and do a pump class, with any luck I will come home from the gym and miraculously finish the 2000 word essay that I haven't even started!!

pre janathon 2012

yay, its that time of year again, the time where I actually exercise every day and really enjoy it. The friendships and support that go hand in hand with Janathon make every painful exercise sooo worth it.

I still cant run :( the crappy plantar I picked up doing Juneathon in 2010 is still with me. I have had all kinds of treatments and physio, worn the inserts, arch supports, special shoes and even suffered through a very painful operation. And its as bad today as the day it arrived, I have kind of accepted that it is something I may never recover from.

Never mind I managed with all kinds of weird and wonderful ways of doing exercise last year, so I am well up for the challenge.

Just realised that I am sat here stuffing my face with a tube of pringles as I write this, pretty sure thats reason enough to move my lardy arse in january.

Thanks to Cathy for organising this again, hopefully it will motivate her to get on with that marathon training she has roped herself in to.

Good luck everyone
