pre janathon 2012

yay, its that time of year again, the time where I actually exercise every day and really enjoy it. The friendships and support that go hand in hand with Janathon make every painful exercise sooo worth it.

I still cant run :( the crappy plantar I picked up doing Juneathon in 2010 is still with me. I have had all kinds of treatments and physio, worn the inserts, arch supports, special shoes and even suffered through a very painful operation. And its as bad today as the day it arrived, I have kind of accepted that it is something I may never recover from.

Never mind I managed with all kinds of weird and wonderful ways of doing exercise last year, so I am well up for the challenge.

Just realised that I am sat here stuffing my face with a tube of pringles as I write this, pretty sure thats reason enough to move my lardy arse in january.

Thanks to Cathy for organising this again, hopefully it will motivate her to get on with that marathon training she has roped herself in to.

Good luck everyone

  2. I was going to ask you what you tried for PF but here you've answered it. What was the op?
I've been crippled since Nov 2010 with the pain but fortunately have managed to wake pain free for the last 2 months.
I did two or three things differently at the same time:
    1 ibuprofen 3 x daily for 2 weeks
Started the pales diet (only really managed that for 2 weeks)
Inserts from profeet but this was after I'd seen an improvement from the other two.
The improvement was fast and impressive.

  4. I am off to google paleo diet, !! The op consisted of having blood taken from my heels taken away respun and then injected into the area causing the trouble. It was supposed to stimulate healing, but I was in as much agony after having it. After not running at all for 18 months I decided as its not improved, surely it cant get any worse if I ease back in gently. But I have been kidding myself I could hardly walk when I got up this morning and its not been that bad since I first did it. So thats the end of that, I will just be sticking to spin for my endorphin buzz from now on. Glad to hear yours has healed :)
